New VC owner and THL member

First time poster and proud new owner of a Patrimony Traditionnelle Small Seconds 82172/000R- 9382. I've admired the brand and this partiular peice for a few years and am very excited to have it on my wrist. What makes this watch special in my eyes is its elegance and simplicity. This is my first "dress watch" but I bought it with the idea that it may be the only dress watch I'll ever need.

Looking forward to gaining some knowledge from fellow members and learning more about the brand. Pics to come soon!

You made an amazing choice to get started with the brand.  (Rest assured, it is just a start.  They are like potato chips, you cannot stop at just one.)  I have the 82172 also - mine is the Platinum with the dark slate gray dial.  If you are going to have one, that is a great choice!  I think it is one that is iconic of the brand also.  Wear it in great health.  Cannot wait to see the pictures.

Congrats!

And you cannot tell us about your watch without real life pictures!  A wrist shot is the minimum requirement.  wink

timeless watch. Also, it is a great semi-casual and casual watch too.

What I ve always loved about it is that very few watches strike such an overall great balance - great size, great dial, superb movement, superb finishing, beautiful to look at, a price that does not warrant donating a few organs...not many tick all these boxes. This watch is more than what one will ever really need...well maybe another complementary piece. :-)

Mine says hi.

It was well worth waiting for...

Phil, your patience has paid-off.  I agree entirely, your new acquisition smacks of elegance, charm and simplicity yes...

As you are obviously handy with the camera it would be nice to have a few wrist shots when convenient.

Now you've crossed the threshold you're assured of meeting a number of Loungers with a good deal of knowledge of the VC brand.

No wonder you're cock-a-hoop.....who wouldn't beheart...

Just an iPhone shot on this one, but here's a shot on the wrist. Question - is it just me or do photos not upload in hi res? They all seem to be fuzzy once uploaded in the thread...

Congrats!

A terrific choice. It looks great on your wrist.

(BTW images get squished down in size when uploaded to THL which may explain their appearance.)

Well thats good to know. I won't waste time pulling out the DSLR in the future, which means iPhone photos more oftern. Quantity over qua... uh oh.

Don't worry, the one thing I have never read on this forum is...

"Please stop - too many watch photos!"

Given your "it may be the only dress watch I'll ever need" statement, here's a wrist shot of my rose gold with a black strap. These days, the black strap is on given my military uniform. I have to admit, the difference isn't much, and it works, but man... it looks really gorgeous (and I much prefer it) with the brown strap.

I'm still looking for a great vintage platnium/white gold/steel thin dress watch for tux wear.

Love that dial! Agree on brown vs. black but this watch could look great on a purple strap!
