Hi guys,
I posted a few times already but now that I am in front of a computer and I have a semi-ok pictures of my 2 watches, I wanted to say thanks to THL and V&C for creating this forum as I've learnt a lot and I really enjoy V&C. I didn't used to like the brand before but it was for lack of information about the achievements of Vacheron and the history of the brand. Mea culpa as indeed it is a fascinating story.
Anyhow, here you go, I joined the V&C club and have 2 vintage watches thanks to John! Knowing me, this is only the start.
Sorry VC, I prefer the vintage sizes and I would love a 38mm perpetual chrono. The current model is way to large for me.
Next on my list are: Mercator, Chrono Royal, cal 1003, 6087, 4260, triple date, all the nice references that one has to have to be a serious collector!

You are a gunslinger, Niccolo - you pull out the big guns right from

Lovely, indeed heart.  Can you share what brought you into the world of Vacheron et Constantin?  Your shopping list is pretty awesome, and those two chronos appear to be in outstanding condition (please, more photos would be greatly appreciated).
Why V&C?

I always liked watches and I remember as a kid I would put cheap watches I bought in the water to test their water resistance....obviously they all failed and I had fun opening them up and breaking them even further. Anyhow, after a long stretch to get my life in order (wife, kids, job, etc...), I rediscovered my love for watches thanks to a Christies ad on a tramway! I attended the auction and came back home, unhappy for not getting a blancpain (I am now so glad I didn't get it), but very happy to have brought home a beautiful lange limited edition. By chance at the same time, a colleague of mine asked me to buy an ap that I had. This was the first watch I ever sold. When I looked into all the past docs, I saw that I had made a good return on that simple watch so I started to dig deeper. I don't have a big wrist and I must always laugh at people that wear massive watches that are so thick that you it seems they need to go to the gym, just to get that muscle trained to be able to carry that watch around. Anyhow, whilst I always liked some APs, Lange and JLC (just the reversos), I never liked the pateks and the vacherons. I still had in memories some of their designs, the malte and some other modern designs of the early 2000s which I didn't like. When I got more serious about watches again, I stumbled across THL 1-2 months ago and started reading all the nice articles explaining about the brand, its past, the past models, etc... And really started to love those old timepieces. I discovered a brand of artists and experts that I had always underestimated. I love the fact that THL gives you access and data into past watches and that really got me interested in buying some vintage V&C. It is so hard to find good info from other brands that this helps a lot imo! The size fits me, ie no more than 39-40mm please! and I really dislike current watches that have a big case and a small movement that seems lost and out of proportion. Anyhow, I like watches that are a bit different without being "show off" and so far the V&C gives me that. I also like the fact that VC is committed to servicing all the watches they've produced, clearly important when you buy some of their vintage watches. On that note, please get some nice vintage buckles remade as it seems I am not the only one looking for some! Finally, what is interesting is that reading about the brand and their watches, I finally looked into a current VC catalogue and guess what, I even like some of their new, more traditional models! The latest minute repeater, cal1731, would be one for me, but sorry, overpriced for me.
Nice to hear, thanks for sharing :-)

What a lovely pair of vintage VCs you have. And both in rose gold, my fav metal! I agree with you on the current sizes of complicated VC watches. A tad too big for my small wrist too. The vintage ones are beautiful and I hope VC will repeat some of this size of complicated watches. Cheers Robin
