New Year's Hangover

Well, maybe not a "hangover" in the traditional sense, but I took this photo on New Year's Eve as we were making preparations for the evening and am only now getting around to posting it.

The Squelette is included for obvious reasons, and the Speake-Marin as a tribute to our own gh, who has recently joined the indie brigade with a PSM of his own.

New Year's Hangover

One week from this very moment I should be exiting the Maison for my ride back to my hotel!  Looking forward to the event that truly starts the year...

Agree, Alex!
The engraved dragons are superb!

Kees Engelbarts

...the noted Dutch engraver did all of the engraving work on this watch (including the name plate, engraving on the reverse of the case, etc.) and also made the underlying mokune game dial. I'm told that there are 200 hours of Kees' work in the dial alone...
I'm not surprised to read that it took 200 hours

the end result is absolutely stunning!
I'd be interested to know if you prefered

the 2002 to the 2000? Gary
To be honest...

We only drank the 2000 and put the 2002 back in the wine fridge! I did like the 2000 quite a bit -- round, well balanced flavor, and a long lasting mousse. That said, I'm really a Krugiste at heart, so prefer the ultra-dry Krug treatment over this wine, which seemed almost demi-sec by comparison.

The 2002 is better. By contrast, I prefer a 2 to a 1 on the dry scale. Anyhow, looking forward to some VC food and wine! Gary
I'd be happy...

Delighted that you liked it. I'm wearing my OS today, so I guess I needed a change from that old Double Split as well :-) Best, Gary
