Newcomer introduction + a few pics

Dear All,
I’m a long time Vacheron lover but it’s my first post here, so here is a start with a introduction and presentation of my first VC.

I’m Sebastien, 29, I live in Paris and work in the business consulting industry. Horology has been one of my great passions for more than 10 years now.
I’ve bought and sold quite a lot of pieces but I’m trying to slow the path and to settle with a limited number of pieces that I really like to wear.

I’m not a “collector”, that is to say that I’m not following a theme in the pieces I buy. What I really enjoy is diversity. To give you a hint about my “watch lover profile” here are some of the pieces I’m lucky to own and plan to keep:
  • “go to” beater: Breitling Superocean, simple, tough, and very reasonably priced for a 1500m diver watch.
  • “Design watches”, aka Panerai: I was a diehard Paneristi but many things pissed me off recently in the way the brand looks at its customer (or cash cows). I’m only keeping what they do best for me: a simple Radiomir 210 and a Luminor 372 (I tried to convince myself to sell it to fund some real horology but she has a magnetic appeal once on the wrist J
  • “Exotic” horology: Roger Dubuis Much More, halfway between a crazy Cartier and a Frank Muller with a real movement (here a Geneva Seal Lemania 8810).
  • “True” horology: Breguet La Tradition 7027, Breguet at its best, and a watch like no other on the planet
And what about VC? Well I recently achieved one of my personal long time goal by getting admitted in one of the top European executive MBA… Problem was that we’ll get courses in 5 campuses all over Europe + international seminars in US, China, Brazil… And I had no “travel” watch. After a pen and a sheet of paper a watch is one of the student’s core tools in order to arrive on time for the classes…

I have been thus almost forced by the circumstances to indulge myself with a suitable timekeeper.

It had to be robust yet perfectly finished, understated but still distinctive and appealing…And the perfect watch for the job…(you already guessed it ;) the VC Overseas!

PS: Alex, we don't really know each other but we already met: I was one of the lucky guys attending the VC event in this famous duck restaurant (I’m a friend of Pierre G.) one year ago. I did not chose a VC because of this dinner, but it definitely helped a little bit ;)
Brains and talent! Welcome to the Lounge, congrats both on

That gorgeous Breguet Tradition established your credentials even without the VC yes.  I'm infatuated with the Tradition Automatic, especially in white gold (borrowed pics):
Welcome from another newcomer.

That is an awesome VC and I love the Breguet as well.  Although I love the Tradition, my personal favorite is the 5207.  My only VC at this time is the Toledo.  The historiques line is what got me interested in VC, and I am now pursuing a Patrimony model and would love to have an Overseas Perpetual Calender.  Thanks for the pictures and again welcome. Stewart (If someone could give me some instruction on how to upload pictures I will post a few.  I am not very computer savvy :))

Welcome and a great collection of watches

I like the fact that your collection shows no sign of WIS snobbishness - you have some serious haute horologie pieces and some more 'fun' ones too - bravo! Edu
