Can someone please help with with some detailes about this Vacheron Constantin, it was my grand grandfather and he left it in my familie for some generations and now i`ve came acrossed it while i was searching for some thing in the attic.

I dont know much about it, it only says 16K and that i believe that is 16K gold but.. that`s why i`m posting here, hope you can give me some detailes about this Vacheron Constantin. It is not working, but if i shake it, the mecanical pieces from the back are moving but.. that`s all

Oh almost forgot   Gold does not rust
Well, here are some clues

1) First look at the past posts here of old VC and more recent vintages, it is easy to see the difference 2)  Someone mentioned, gold does NOT rust. 3) The hands on the watch is really crude 4)  the rotor at the back only says Vacheron.... I do not believe VC will forget the engrave on the second half of the name 5) even with poor quality pictures, the movement is really disgusting parts in it! 6)  The dial will NEVER peel off in parts like this.  Old dials may have discolouration or oxidation but not in this manner
With all respect a vintage VC would never look like this.

With all respect a vintage VC would never look like this. Its not a VC movement and gold is not oxidizing like this. Keep it if it has sentimental value otherwise get rid of it....
