one of the most beautiful (and rare) minute repeaters of all time

the ref 4261 one of the most beautiful (and rare) minute repeaters of all time

Man do I love this model, sleek, elegant and drop dead gorgeous. In 1941/1942  the brand developed an extra slim repeater caliber (in two diameters 12’’ and 13’’) with a mere 3.1mm thickness which is a true feat considering the fact that the gongs and hammers need to be of a certain thickness to produce a satisfactory chime.

The reference 4261 was made in only 36 examples. 26 were made in the 40s and 10 starting 1951. It was made in yellow and rose gold as well as in platinum.

Hi Alex, Are these 2 examples in the VC museum or the hands of a private collector?  They are too easy to . Is there anyway to put a sound file in a post in order for us to hear these works of art? BR, Dan
Maybe the absolute killer in Vacheron history

The Tear Drop lugs and the thin case with a pure design like no others A wonderful complication And total understatement Hard to beat or more "Heart to beat" ;) Thanks Alex François
Both stunning examples

The platinum version is amazing for its like-new condition, but the YG version is equally to be admired as it was obviously well worn!  Talk about one-upmanship at a business lunch, hearing the gentle chimes of a minute repeater to signal time to return to the office
"Drop dead gorgeous" ... beauty & pain ...

...in Les Historiques collection with those splendid lugs without the repeating complication in a new metal like Tantale or Ruthenium perhaps mixed with Rose gold. All the best to my fellow loungers, Berny
