Over (the) seas again: somewhere more spicy...

Dear fellow loungers,

Following your kind comments please find an other round of Overseas travel pics! No study destination this time, but something a little bit more "spicy" in the current context:
Over (the) seas again: somewhere more spicy...

It was my first time in Lebanon, invited here by a friend for his wedding... Did I had some (maybe stupid westerner's) angst related to the geopolitical context of the area? Definitely yes!

Did we feel some tensions when our car was stopped and searched by heavily armed (and not so friendly) soldiers? Yes as well ;)

Did we enjoy this great country? Absolutely! Lebanon is definitely full of contrasts, relaxing on a beach knowing that you only need to drive a few dozens of kilometers to enter an active war zone is somewhat "disturbing"... But the trip has otherwise been very nice and without any difficulty.

Having some good time at Heddé Sands

Used to be called Paris of the middle east. Great country and I feel best chance for "spreading" democracy in the Middle east. Very cosmopolitan country.
Roving reporter!...

Seb - full marks for the excellent photographs. A decent camera is a prerequisite, however, the key is knowing when to click the button and capture the moment and that's the difference between the novice and the experienced operator. You manage this skill beautifully and very creatively. Whether it's colour or black and white you add a dimension which adds depth, colour, message and purpose!   Well done and keep up the good work. Keep safe Best wishes Tony

Thanks for sharing - brings back many fond memories... Fantastic city - although my best memories where of the mountains (Beyrouth in August was a bit hot for me...) Cheers, Francois
