Overseas Chronograph

I have several Rolex Daytonas and am seriously considering buying a VC Overseas Chronograph. However, I am concerned about the size of the watch. There are no dealers in my area to try one on. I would appreciate any feedback as to fit and feel of this watch. Also, any other comments are appreciated as I never owned a Vacheron..
Thank you.

John, The older style Overseas chrono is similar in dimensions and weight to a steel Daytona, while the newer style Overseas chrono is larger in diameter, thickness, and mass.  The new Overseas bracelet is a wonderfully flexible, sturdy, and comfortable design.  After wearing the newer Overseas chrono, I find the Daytona seems tiny, light, and flimsy, as if it were a toy watch.  Obviously the Daytona is a popular, much-loved, and much-imitated design, but I have not got a clue as to why anyone who had a choice between these two watches in steel would ever consider choosing the Daytona unless it has to do with wanting people to know what one is wearing and wonder whether it is fake. Park, Thanks for the reply. I concur with yours and will purchase one. My other minor concern about Vacheron is that there appears to be limited service centers in the US. Thank you. Regards, John

John, While I don't have any Rolexes and can't speak about a comparison; I do love the OS Chrono!  I bought one last year and it's easily my favorite watch.  I can barely take it off and the bracelet in addition to being comfortable is also stunning....like a piece of art!

It's a very comfortable watch to wear and mine is RG with a RG bracelet so in spite of the weight it feels very comfortable.  In my quite prejudiced view it's one terrific watch.  Here are a few pictures:

Best regards and happy hunting, Tom

Tom, Your watch is stunning; good luck with it. I am going to start slow and buy the VC Stainless Steel Chronograph. Thanks for the feedback; it is very much appreciated. Regards, John
I have the US limited edition and I find it to be

a great wearer. At 42mm diameter it fits well but I find it too thin for a sports watch!  I have not had any issues with it even though it has been getting lots of wrist time since its date of purchase in 2007. The only issue I have on the chrono version is that the chrono subdials all have a different size. Keep us posted on your choice
Alex, correct me if I'm wrong, but I still find the two chrono...

subdials to be the same size on the US limited edition watch and I love it... The seconds subdial is indeed smaller than the other two and that doesn't bother me a bit... As to what my choice would be right now, I would suggest an OS chrono with the titanium bezel. It has a powerful look to it.
its an optical illusi0on, the 3 subdials on the US version are

different sizes! I had thought so as well but upon closer inspection it turns out that they are 3 different sizes
Wish you'd never told me... I am still living in the oblivion (nt)

John, Thank you for your kind words; I appreciate it! The SS will be gorgeous because it is a gorgeous watch no matter what metal you get it in.  Good Luck to you!  Enjoy it for a lifetime! Best regards, Tom
Always a pleasure to look at your photos Tommy!

And I'm glad to hear that you wear it a lot... After a year of wear, how's the RG bracelet doing, not too many scratches? Cheers, Francois
Thank you Francois.......................

It's got em but what are you going to do!  They don't bother me even a little. I love that watch.  Unfortunately it had to go back to VC for some work because the chrono hand didn't reset to 12 all of the time and felt a little mushy really since I got it.  It's been gone for almost 2 months and I can't wait to get it back.  I wore it almost all of the time. Best regards, Tom
well, it was made to be worn...

...I'm happy to hear that they don't bother you. I hope VC does a quick turnaround and that i gets back to your lovely home soon... Cheers, Francois
