Overseas with Strap

I love the Overseas and would like to own one (non-chrono, new/used) but prefer a strap v. bracelet.    I understand an older version had a rubber strap option.  I really like the new white dial model and in an ideal world would have one without the bracelet.  Any advice, guidance is MUCH appreciated.  Thanks, Kevin

couple of years ago but production was limited.

The case construction of the previous and new models do not allow for adding a strap: recently a community member tried making his own leather strap but the final result seemed unsatisfactory.

I know that a strap version of the OS is in the pipelines at VC but don't know of date of release. I would guess 2008 but don't quote me :-)

Alex and Kevin,

I have it on good authority from VC that in the summer of this year they will introduce an Overseas with a leather (and possibly a rubber) strap.  I guess we'll have to wait and see.  As you know, my own attempt to make a rubber strap was not successful due to the construction of the current bracelet.

Hi Jonathan,

The OS you are reffering to will be only available in the US market...others will have to wait :-(

May keep me from buying a Patek 5712. I love this watch, but a gold bracelet is too much bling for me.

because they're generally to flashy for me. I tried this on and loved it. VC has perfected rose/red gold colouration and the brown dial is stunning. Cheers

I'm currently looking at one. The Vacheron priced similarly would be a real competitor and in many ways better looking (but I'll deny saying this if I buy the 5712 ;).
Yup that IS a nice watch :-) (nt)
