Overseas strap

Please could anyone tell me whether it was now possible to buy a leather (ideally black alligator) strap for a regular Overseas Chronograph?

I know that this question was asked some time ago, but as there has been no development that I know of recently I think it is a good time to ask again.   If it is impossible to buy such a strap, then I will have to think seriously about having one made.  Even then, there will still be a problem of getting a nice deployment clasp to go with it.

In that case, please could anyone tell me whether I could order a 'steel' deployant clasp?  And in what width are they available?  I need to know this to ensure that the strap that will be made will be of the right width.  My nearest dealer is quite a distance away, so I would be grateful of any information you could give me.

did you read Alex's interview above? I think you may find your answer

that there might be a rubber strap version coming out, but didn't say anything about alligator straps though.

this is what me thinks

normally the lug structure of the Overseas with bracelet and strap do not match (ie the US limited edition OS) however if VC launch a croc strap for the Overseas it may be possible to order a strap and try to tweak it so that it fits...this is all guess work here.

The only steel deployant clasp is the one in the Malte Tonneau chrono and it is 16mm on both sides.

Thanks, Alex.

In that case I probably won't wait for VC, but will go ahead with a custom strap.  The information about the clasp will be very useful.
