Patek Hour Angle

Christie's is set to auction a newly discovered hour angle oversized wristwatch that research shows was commissioned at the same time as the three Vacheron & Constantin hour angle watches previously discussed here.

One of two known to have been made and the only one yet discovered, the watch houses a LeCoultre movement made in 1912.  The piece was cased in 1936 and is a huge 55mm.  That was the same year that V&C produced three examples of an oversized hour angle Aviator's watch and the two models are somewhat similar looking.  Check out lot 209 if you are interested in more history.  I find Christie's online catalog a real pleasure to use.

Vacheron's Version

This is the Vacheron version from a pervious thread: Most interestingly, both the Patek and Vacheron versions were modified by Victorin Piguet & Co. for their hour angle time indicator.  They may have been side-by-side on the workbench!
