Patrimony Contemporaine Date self-winding

Dear all,

I am new to this exciting forum and is my first post.

I have recently purchased my first VC watch. It is a Patrimony Contemporaine Date self-winding (85180/000G-9230) from an authorised VC retailer.

It is an absolutely stunning watch, however there is something i find slightly odd. In the multimedia animation instructions of use in the USB stick that came with the watch, demonstrates that to adjust date independent of time (first position when the crown is pulled out), the crown is to be turned clockwise. However, with my watch, the date can only be adjusted with the crown going in anti-clockwise fashion.

I am not sure if VC made a mistake when they made the instructions of use, or is there a particular problem with my watch? This is of great concern for me as the watch is now in Richemont service as the date disc is stuck between the 17th and the 18th (it's only 2-3 months old!!), and I'm being told anti-clockwise date adjustment is correct, and this is extremely confusing and worrying.

Any advices or comments will be very much appreciated. Many thanks in advance!

David welcome to the Lounge. Congratulations on your Patrimony and

sorry to hear that you had a problem with the date. Changing the date by turning the crown counter clockwise sounds strange (granted you were holding the watch dial up) but I will check this and get back to you rapidly

Thank you Alex. Yes, the date can only be changed counter-clockwise with the watch dial facing up. It is a bit worrying as it's opposite to what the animation on the instruction of use shows and now there is problem with the date disc. thank you for checking!! i would also very much appreciate it if there are other fellow loungers with Patrimony Contemporare date self wind willing to share your experience! David
good news the date change is

Hi Alex, Thank you so much for checking that out for me. It does relieve form worrisome. However, i still am puzzled on how VC made such a mistake on the multumedia Instruction Manual especially it was made specifically for each watch model. I wonder if other VC Patrimony Contemporare Date Self-wind owners picked up the same thing? Once again, thank you for the clarification. David
surprisingly you were the 1st ever to bring this up!!! The USB drives

Hi Hemish, I would love to post a photo as it is such a stunning watch, except the watch is in repair and is most likely have to go back to Switzerland for a period of time. The watch has been away from me longer than been in my possession for the first 2-3 months of ownership :-( Will definitely post a photo when I get it back (or a replacement). David

Hi David, LOL... in the last three months I have purchased four vintage Vacheron watches. All of them are in Geneva and I only spent a couple of hours with each watch before I sent them! So I can sympathise and relate to your situation. Are you based in Sydney? Hamish
