The written description and watch pictured are for a Universal Geneve chronograph in steel.
I don't see how in anyway it might be relevant to your question about a platinum V&C.
We do not allow sales, shilling, or ads for watches on The Hour Lounge. Questions on valuations of watches are also not allowed according to the user agreement.
Your post looks like an advertisement to me and this is a warning. If this feeling persists or motive becomes evident, this post may be deleted and you may be blocked from this site.
Dear Dan, My sincere apologies. This is the first time I have ever attempted to access The Hour Lounge and my computer skills are not that good yet.
I was under a deadline yesterday and I wanted to get my message to someone at the hour Lounge to provide me with a ballpark valuation as even after several hours spent, I honestly could not find any information on the internet, regarding rarity or price of this watch at retail or for insurance value.
I had no intentions of Violating your user rules either.
Thanks for your stern warning however. I regret and am surprised you feel my request appears to be an advertisement by me
as my post was an honest plea for information from The Hour Lounge's impressively informed members, and not a blatant attempt to sell anything.
Please see the image below which also includes the envelope on which I have written all the relevant information I could find re the Platinum VC.
PS I keep all of my watches individually in such an envelope as I cannot keep all the information in my head.
If any THL members have any other information on the VC, It would be gratefully received.
With kindest regards,
Your comments are a bit disingenuous to say the least.
The model number of your VC platinum is 4961 as you have written, but I'm sure you know that already.
It took me 5 seconds to google it and find a host of references and photos for that model. So that's a hint.
As for valuation, I suggest you contact, Christies, Sotheby's, Antiquorum, Phillips or Bonhams.
All these auction houses will be able to help you.
And given the text on your envelopes, it is not suprising for someone to conclude that your postings are a sales pitch.
In any case, I would suggest that any Loungers who wish to pursue this matter further should do so through private email.
I hope you are sucessful in finding the information you desire.
