Please help identify this watch

This was given to me by my Grandfather 20 years ago. I have searched around and can't find one like it that would help me identify what it is called and approximately when it was made. I also need help determining how to have the dial serviced. It is a bit corroded on the dial edges.
Thanks for your help!

suspect it from being from the 60s just from looks but to be sure you need to have the back opened by a watchmaker and provide the case and movement numbers. The safest way to have your dial cleaned ywould be to send it to VC (you'll find details on their website)

Thank You! I will take it to my jeweler, have it opened, write down the numbers, and get some photos! I'll report back then. Excuse my ignorance, ultra slim cal, is cal short for something?

I took it to my jeweler, they were afraid to open it so they are sending it down the street to a watchmaker. Should get it back next week.

Thank you! I am looking into sending it to VC for dial repair/repaint The closest VC authorized dealer is 300 miles away. My jeweler is looking into sending it direct to VC instead of a relay through authorized dealer wish me luck!
Keep us posted!
