it. these numbers are the case numbers and sometines refrenece numbers. There are also numbers on the movement. These are used to identify the watch

If you don't know how to do this or are afraid to do it, take it to a watchmaker and bring your camera (with macro capabilities. Explain what you want and if you ask nicely, he might do it for free :-) He should be able to get the back off without any problem. Take some pics of the inside of the case. The csae and model number should be there as well as the gold content and a few other symbols. Then take a pic of the movement itself. the movement number and some additional ionfo will be engraved on different parts of the movment. Just read Tick-Talk's blog. Good info and I do recommend this site to newbees like me with older watchs for enlightenment on the thought and process of making these watches.
