Pointless complications - can anyone explain this?

I've noticed a few watches lately with a date aperture like this one:

Pointless complications - can anyone explain this?

Apparently it's a big deal that it can tell you yesterday's date and tomorrow's date, as well as today's. Surely if a watch tells you today's date you can work out the rest yourself!!? Am I missing something? I know the QdeI shows all the days of the month, but that is more of a design feature I guess.

Anyway, if you suffer from amnesia, this is the watch for you...
Aperture equals up

Not that this watch is over-designed or anything, the big white aperture is there to indicate the "up" side of the watch. If you put the watch on backwards, the big white aperture will be on the bottom.  Robert

Should you ever stumble into a wormhole and begin to travel backwards in time, this watch will reveal your situation more readily.  Original Star Trek series fans will recall the backwards spinning clocks...
