Global platinum supply is consumed by VC? :-) The original Malte Tourbillon is one of my favorite watches of all time. I like it loads more than the Tourbillon regulator. If one ever comes up for sale in auction or via a collector, and it is within affordable range, I would seriously consider snapping it up. When VC was going through troubled times and slowly coming out it, this is one of the timepieces that showed the way forward. At least this is my personal view. I have VC catalogues going back 10 years and it is evident. Today almost everything is in-house and Geneva Seal; 10 years ago it was the opposite. Love the Malte Tourbillon only watch in platinum. Lucky owner.
I totally agree, Alex - the Only Watch Tourbie is the King of Torts!

it is, IMHO, an ultimate VC tourbillon as the size of the watch is much more suitable and acceptable even for a big-case watch nut like me. and the dial is exceptional, the sand-blasted platinum is like no other and gives off different color hues depending on light. wooow, congrats to all CEP owners whatever watch model you have. they're creme de la creme among VCs :-)
Alex let's 'the cat out of the bag!'...

What have we done to deserve this sneak preview? Obviously, you can't keep a good thing under wraps for too long particularly when it's as good as this! Now we're talking Mr A.G!! Marvellousheart... Tony

Hi, This one is really gorgeous. I find it really so much better than in pink gold. In fact, out of the Historique Collection, modern VCs are much better in white. I wonder why. Best Dje

can you tell us what are the best results for this caliber?  I'm wondering if it would be a candidate for a future Concours international de chronométrie.  What a coup that would be yes.  The "standard" (LOL, if one can use that term here) 18,000 vph is very traditional and suits the large balance but its worth remembering that JLC won in 2009 with their Master Tourbillon running at 28,800.  The Gyrotourbillon II took 2nd place and, as we know, that is quite an adventurous movement with multi-axis tourbillon and helical hairspring heart also uprated to 28,800 vph from the Gyro I. In the 2011 contest, Greubel Forsey's double tourbillon took top honors using a more relaxed 21,600 vph; another tour-de-force movement but one wonders if over-complication leads to fragility in real-world use.  The most recent 2013 contest showed a decided lack of performance in the Tourbillon category so the field is open for a fresh attempt by a serious Manufacture of tourbillons! I guess what I'm really curious to know is, considering how much resources and pride VC has invested in their tourbillon watches, where are they going with them in terms of chronometry?
VC likes to say that they are within COSC standards but often much

better. However, they do not want to communicate on this. For example there are watches which are regulated at +2seconds but you won't know which as not to create concern or anger from a client whose watch does not regulate exactly at the same level. Don't also forget that wthe watches submited to the Chronometry contest have been specifically regulated and prepared for it
