can you tell us what are the best results for this caliber? I'm wondering if it would be a candidate for a future Concours international de chronométrie. What a coup that would be
. The "standard" (LOL, if one can use that term here) 18,000 vph is very traditional and suits the large balance but its worth remembering that JLC won in 2009 with their Master Tourbillon running at 28,800. The Gyrotourbillon II took 2nd place and, as we know, that is quite an adventurous movement with multi-axis tourbillon and helical hairspring
also uprated to 28,800 vph from the Gyro I.
In the 2011 contest, Greubel Forsey's double tourbillon took top honors using a more relaxed 21,600 vph; another tour-de-force movement but one wonders if over-complication leads to fragility in real-world use. The most recent 2013 contest showed a decided lack of performance in the Tourbillon category so the field is open for a fresh attempt by a serious Manufacture of tourbillons!
I guess what I'm really curious to know is, considering how much resources and pride VC has invested in their tourbillon watches, where are they going with them in terms of chronometry?
