The Prodigal Son

Hello Everyone,

I feel like the Prodigal SonThe Prodigal Son . I used to own a VC timepiece but sold it to pursue another another brand. Over time I began to regret selling my VC Patrimony and just recently decided to "return to the family". Recently I acquired a VC $20 gold coin watch in 18K ref. 6510 which took my breath away! It looks beautiful and has cemented my impression that these timepieces are works of art. It's a treat to view the cal. 1003 movement. My watch has the original integrated gold bracelet. I'll have to post pictures soon!
Just have a few questions:

1. Most VC $20 gold coin watches are dated 1904 on the coin. However, mine has a date of 1906. Was my timepiece a limited run for one particular year or was it a common watch for VC?

2. What was the retail $ of my watch? I believe it was produced in the 1980's based on the case number.

3. Were all VC coin watches 18K gold or were some made in 14K or 22K?

Thank You in advance for your help!

welcome back home :-) some info

1) The ref 6510 came with different coins (depending on the availability at the time) including 1880, 1899, 1904, 1906, 1910 etc... so it was not a limited edition per se. I don't have production numbers but at the time VC was maing about 3000 watches total and the coin watches were only a small per centage. 2) I don't have retail price but do know that your watch dates from 1971 - BTW ref 6510 originaly came with a leather strap so I gather the gold bracelet was added at a later date. 3) The interior case is always in 18k gold, the coins were gerenarly 18k with some exceptions in 22k. I am not aware of any in 14k.  Please do post some scans :-)
