3 details to be improved with the QdI configurator...
10/16/2008 - 11:48
Spent a couple of hours last night getting my personal QdI together... Tons of fun I believe personalization is one of the coolest aspects of the QdI line. Because of it I decided to shift from automatic to Day/Date model as my first QdI choice (I have to admit I was also a bit influenced by Alex in that respect and the fact that personalization won't start on automatic for a while). I had some doubts about having two VC watches with the same movement but then I came to the same conclusion as Alex: Jubilee and QdI Day/Date are absolutely two different watches. There is another aspect why I am changing my mind: I hope the HL QdI version will see the day sometime down the road and it will be a "personalized" automatic model. Anyway, there are three minor things I would suggest be improved in the QdI configurator that would make life a lot easier: 1. adding "save" and "compare" functions to it; so you can save your configuration as a file and store it away for future reference; comkparing different versions in the real time would be cool as well  2. "email to a friend" function; so you can share your fav combo with a friend - this of course can be taken off the list if "save" function comes to life. I know this is a great tool to gather users' data   3. not having to reset the configuration when you want to change a minor detail in your QdI; s you do not have to do the same thing over and over again Hope this could be of some help or even incorporated and developed in the configurator
How do I save the image?

Now that I've configured my dream QDI, how can I capture and save the image?  Nothing I try seems to work
if you have photoshop you can use the print screen funtion (nt)

My dream QDI
10/18/2008 - 07:05
Thanks Alex, that works great!  My dream watch would have a titanium case for lightest weight possible, palladium winding stem and bezel, to highlight the dial which is lightest colour for maximum visibility.  Rubber strap, of course, and titanum buckle.  Truly Quai de la montagne
Amazing combo!

I had not though about that one, but it looks amazing... My dream QdI would be the same as yours, except with the simple Day/Time model... Cheers, Francois
agree that is one hell of an original combination (nt)

Having a bit of fun with the personalization feature
Thanks James

I really like this website, it is done so well - congrats to VC and its technical team! I really like the personalisation function, it is quite easy and fast to use. I'm still in love with the Simple Time model, but I am not sure if I would prefer to go with the RG or Palladium model... With me playing on this website and thinking about my little bundle at home, my productivity at work has officially dropped to 0... Francois

Hello Fellow Loungers! Hope you all have had fun configurating your dream QDI! Thank you for all your kind messages!  The link was sent to me by VC Concierge a few days ago.  I guess the website was supposed to be for their North American clientele initially. I must apologise to Alex - Sorry if I stole any of your thunder by revealing the website before you did!  This is what tends to happen when you live in a part of the world that wakes up earlier than most! Also, (I presume it must Alex who has quietly hinted the change in password!) that there are three possible security codes to enter the website - all in the QDI spririt! Best regards JAMES
