WOW! What a beauty! Quelle merveille! That is so lovely. Does it hace a Chrono Royal movement?
Yes it does :)
07/26/2013 - 21:09
It is one of the very few  Chronometre Royal with a different dial as the normal one. As far as I know, I know only one another identical (sold by antiquorum in the 250th anniversary sale without the braceelt) and a black dial owned by a fellow member. There is also a little photo of an CR in pink gold with guilloche dial a later 6340 in the document Kent (KBS) shared kindly with us. I have seen around 60/70 CR for the moment through the internet and that's the only 4 special dial I know. Maybe archives know if there are other, but I doubt there are a lot more. I am too biased but that was for me the ultimate combination of what Vacheron did the best in the past, and I am very thankful to Berny who made it possible. The review is here and you were the first to answer it winkhttp://www.thehourlounge.com/thread/view/vacheron-chronometre-royal-6161_79794_79794.html I put it on a black croco strap but I will come back to the bracelet for sure. cheers Francois

Superb CR Francois - I will be enjoying reading your original post when I'm back home (thanks for posting the link - I had missed it the first time!) The quarter VC cross lugs are really awesome... Enjoy! Best,  Francois
That one is a pure beauty.

Here's mine... BTW, Alex, what's that under your wrist?
Love the Saltarello Joseph. Under my wisrt is nothing other than the
07/26/2013 - 17:37
symbol of the VC Community: The Hour Club
You own a lot of beauties, Joseph
07/26/2013 - 17:53
But that one may just be my favorite. Best regards, Robert
I love that one Joseph, the salmon dial of that version is pure joy.
07/26/2013 - 20:53
Recently back from restorations...
07/26/2013 - 17:02
This Ref. 3740 Chronometre Royal desk watch needed a new center pivot assembly and now runs just marvelous on the bedside table heart. Say Joseph, don't you recognize what Alex is resting his lovely QdI on?  It's "the" Hour Club!
07/26/2013 - 17:29
Now I remember. of course, silly me (LOL)
07/26/2013 - 21:13
No "clock" can pretend to such a movement laugh The second photo shows how they were perfectly finished, great one ! cheers Francois
Like Edina Monsoon...I feel thin and gorgeous. ;-)
07/26/2013 - 17:51
That looks so fantastic on your wrist, Robert!
07/26/2013 - 18:27
Sometimes simplicity trumps complication! Best, Joseph
any one who cites Edina is fabulous ;-)
07/26/2013 - 18:35
Respo, absolutely breathtaking. Love this piece. I have the
07/26/2013 - 19:22
patrimony ultra thin with same calibre.
Even a beautiful photo like yours won't do justice to that 1955
07/26/2013 - 21:20
It is soooo fantastic, the understatement, the feeling of this ultra thin watch, the dial, the overall design. The feeling grows slowly on the wrist more than any other imho, a trap when tried some minutesdevil enjoy . What a treat this friday with a Saltarello PG, 1955 and a QDI, my favourite recent Vacheron yes. Just missing the Mercator or the terrific Veillotron masterpiece and I'm done cheeky
I love the back of that one...
07/27/2013 - 03:21
...such as exquisite movementyes
Beautiful watch Alex!
07/26/2013 - 18:17
Thanks for sharing and giving me a chance to share my latest timepiece. My latest Montblanc Villeret Chronographe Email Grand Feu. Love the beautiful Minerva movement as well as the black enamel dial (shot taken yesterday but I am wearing this watch today) cheers robin
Robin good to see you went with your heart:-) wear it in best of
07/26/2013 - 18:36
Actually my VC taught me to go with my heart long ago. ..
07/26/2013 - 19:31
When I bought her instead of a Patek Calatrava which the "whole world" asked me to buy instead of a VC Patrimony. .. this was way back in sep 2013 when I got my first haute horology timepiece. I looked at my VC Patrimony beside a few Patek Calatrava models. .. comments like "oh if you choose the VC you would lose half the value once you walk out" etc. I looked at the VC again... I bought it. I went with my heart then and since then :) (I like some Patek models and got an annual calendar 3 months after the VC but I can never buy a calatrava over a patrimony) Thanks Alex for being my watch mentor and inspiration too :) Cheers Robin
Robin, if you won't show the best part...
07/26/2013 - 18:38
I will angel Someone else share's your good taste...
Thanks Dean!
07/26/2013 - 19:34
You did a great job on the visit and article you wrote and you also represented us very well (everyone knows you as a very very serious VC collector who knows all his stuff!) :) Yes I recently heard Mr Cabbidu wears piece 7 of 8. :) Cheers Robin
Robin an interesting piece. I'm very intrigued. Mont Blanc does
07/26/2013 - 19:30
Design some real cool stuff. May I also request you to share pics of your traditionelle with the MB?
will do!
07/26/2013 - 19:37
I am planning to take a group picture of various pieces when my Datograph is back. Of course our VC Patrimonies are no traditional horizontal coupling chronograph compared to my MB villeret or Lange datograph but the 4400 movement in the VC is comparable in finishing quality in its own right! Cheers Robin
Robin my Traditionelle is at the VC spa in your city awaiting
07/26/2013 - 19:59
Collection after its first service. I miss it terribly. No matter how complex and complicated watches get, the traditionelle and its movement side grip me no less than any other piece...
she's a beauty Robin! (nt)
07/27/2013 - 03:29
not so much gracing, as awkwardly plonked on...

Nice watch, great photo, but

Here's another one I like.  Its unusual.  I like unusual watches.  The watch crystal is very thick and dome shaped, with thin bands of color in it.  When looking directly at the face of the watch, they appear as thin lined.  When viewed from an angle, they appear as thick stripes.
