this is as rare as they get: chocolate inside

In 2007 Vacheron Constantin launched the Patrimony Traditionnelle Caliber 2755 (a lousy name for such an amazing watch if you ask me) which to date is the brand’s most complicated watch featuring a perpetual calendar, tourbillon and minute repeater.

The inhouse calibre 2755 features over 600 components and as a first the engineers and watchmakers developed a centripetal speed-regulator in the striking-mechanism. This device eliminates the noise interference normally experienced with pallet systems.

The sound is truly amazing, loud, clear and seraphic! Resulting from the use of a stud linking the case to the striking mechanism. Furthermore the copper content of the rose gold case has been increased adds to the quality of resonance, finally it is interesting to note that each case is individually modified to adapt to the quality of the chimes of each individual movement.

In May 2009 a special order has been answered and a drop dead gorgeous version with a two tone chocolate dial has been specially made for Parisian retailer Dubail.

Now here is a fitting example of Vacheron's haute horology to erase the stain in my memory of that fake abomination! Perhaps the watchmakers were inspired by Francois Constantin's 1821 letter to the factory:"I don't really know how to repeat to you that we have a big step forward to make with the repeating work and that it is only by perservering with this that we can compete with the Swiss houses who offer a year's credit, and whose prices look better, although really they are less well known than ours. But, as these watchmakers first consider the appearance, it will only be when we are there that we can plead with advantage from the substance and that we shall have fair play.  Don't be astonished if I often harp on about these repeaters.  It is such an important item that we should not lose it from sight for a single instant."
hmmm which abomination? (nt)

Unless Alex's previous post smacked of hints or I've been around our head honcho too long. Anyway, that is really a beauty and I wish VC would come out with more of its chocolates - sweeeeet but with none of the calories! I am sure this watch looks 100 times better in the metal despite Alex's superb photography. Thanks for making my Friday, Jefe. Cheers! Kazumi

I agree that this is a magnificant looking watch!
