The Real Thing! (A night at the Opera)

Hello to you all!

Last wednesday night was dark and very very cold in Paris. The street were empty. But a building was shining in the dark.
The Real Thing! (A night at the Opera)

The opera House! There was no phantom but a few people in long gowns and tuxedos despite the siberian weather.
They did not want to be late for the show! In the light of a lampost one of them flahed his wrist to check the time...

Once inside, they all looked up to a magnificient view

Then it was time for the show: A preview of Orphee and Eurydice on the invitation of the finest watch making company: Vacheron and Constantin, What else?

After the show and the pleasure of the eyes and the ears, it was time to discover the truffle delicacies perpared by the Apicius chef.

There again, looking up was not a waste time, and may be an idea for nice set of opera ceilings watches?

And the dancers joined us for dinner to share our impressions on the show but surprinsigly enough some people talked about watches as well.

It was long past midnight when we left after looking up to catch a lasting memory of these beautiful celings

A immense thank you to Alex, Jean-Yves, Veronique and the whole Vacheron and Constantin team for a dream evening.

All the best to you all :-)

That sounds like a fantastic evening and I really adore that watch! My wife and I had a wonderful tour of  le Palais Garnier a couple of years ago (just before VC presented the watch). Here are some of my pics…

Nice pics, Ken Im really sorry I haven't been in the main theatre auditorium. I've been as far as the Grand Staircase. Next visit! JB

Thanks. We took the leader-led guided tour (as opposed to the individual self-guided tour) which gave the small group access to the theater, private boxes, the library and other interesting off limit areas.
really cool pics Ken, love the 1st one!
