Recent Acquisition #4 Last one for now

Here's the last recent acquisition, a pocket watch, very thin from about 1943, lovely curved crystal, in decent condition. The other one I had needed a mate Recent Acquisition #4 Last one for now , so there's a photo of the  two of them as well.

Enjoy!
Joseph

Classic Beauties

A vintage PW is certainly something worth having.  Those are two beauties.

Thanks, Dean, They are simple, and elegant. VC in that time period  (as now) knew how to put it all together. Regards, Joseph

When it comes to beautiful pocket watchs, 1 is never enough!
11/24/2008 - 03:10
Hi Joseph, You've picked up 4 beautiful pieces recently.  I'd like to know how you will wear them all, in addition to your established collection, without any of them feeling neglected .  If you would like to adopt a VC fan that can appreciate and inherit some of your collection, just me let know . Enjoy them all!  Best Regards, Dan

Thanks Dan, I'll just have to rotate them regularly. But I heard of some research recently that shows regrowth of organs and limbs. So I may look into that and grow a few more arms. You can never have too many watches...or arms! Regards, Joseph
Nice one

The movement looks brand new.  Great find. KCC
Re: Nice one

Thank you. The movement was in gorgeous shape. Someone really looked after it. There was a minor ding in the back of the case that I had removed, but that was it. Regards, Joseph
Stunning Movement! :-)

That's the best shot of the year, Joseph... Congrats on your final purchase (for now, of course)! Cheers, Francois
Re: Stunning Movement! :-)

Thanks, Francois. I di try to emphasize the Geneva striping. I took a few other shots, closer in but I was a bit rushed and could really set up properly so they didn't turn out that well. But, yes, the movement condition was first rate. The dial was also in great shape, not refinished but requiring minimal clean-up. Sometimes you have horseshoes! Regards, Joseph
Very nice pair of VCs...

Wonderful pocket watches!  The movement it a beauty too!  Its also nice that your old pocket watch has a new friend.  I'll have to try that excuse the next time I'm looking at a watch..."But dear the 1972 gets lonely when the Carree is on my wrist, he needs another friend." Best regards, Dino

Thanks Radek, I'm still looking for some other VC pocket watches. Unfortunately the really interesting pieces from the 1920's are few and far between. Finding one of those would really be incredible luck! Regards, Joseph

Thanks John, I've just added another one, not a VC or Breguet but a Jules Jurgensen. Photos to follow. Regards, Joseph

Thanks, Lin, Somethings happen tout a coup and others more slowly. This one I almost missed but then jumped just in time to snag it. It was luck and perserverence both. Regards, Joseph

Thank you, Doc I have already started my plunge into Art Deco but alas, its not a Vacheron, but beautiful none the less. I'm here in Toronto but the watch is in Geneva. Regards, Joseph
