Reply to the question on vintage chronograph calibers 434/492

Following Anka's question on the difference between the vintage chronograph calibers 434 and 492 here is the info I obtained from VC:

These vintage calibers starting the 20s were based on Valjoux 22 and 23 base movements.

The difference between these calibers are few:

Cal 434

- the coupling lever (1) is infront or behind the wheel
- the balance cock and index system (2)

Caliber 434 was used in references 4072, 4083, 4177, 4178
Caliber 492 was used in references 4072, 4178, 6087

Nevertheless these two calibers could be found in watches with the same reference numbers depending on the date of production.

Thank you Alex!

Clear as usually! Why did VC use some time one caliber and in other times, the other caliber? Any special reasons? It seems that there is not one better than the other..., so, what?... Cheers
