you can always come late :-)" and his tolerance for poorly taken pics , i'd dare post this pic responding to alex's "if it's to post others like this................. there's a reason why VC takes centre stage.

this is my silent protest over the fourth piece which is supposed to be the VC rendition of the 40's medical chrono which i eagerly anticipate in this year's SIHH and was disappointed. used to be these 3 until someone posted the interview (guess who? ) and i can no longer be satisfied with the trio. well, who knows ? the year's not over, i can only pray .

thanks for the compliments. if u are interested in chronographs.......

may i introduce something very different, my avatar. the harrywinston Z1, my favourite weekend sports watch. it houses the F.Piguet 1185, as used in the VC overseas chronograph, but modified by Jean Marc Wiederrecht,  to a triple retrograde chronograph. Mr Wiederrecht won the best watchmaker conceptor in 07 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève, he specialises in jump hour and retrograde. the watch is designed by Emmanuel Gueit, who also designed the popular AP royal oak offshore.

I'm in love with that watch ever since I 1st saw it! (nt)

very masculine and attractive watch! Amazing collection a.ler!!!
05/03/2008 - 12:15

Great visual comparison of corporate styles...
05/02/2008 - 18:43

with the VC clearly representing classical elegance!

yes, indeed. Each speaks to me in a different way. nt.

Wohoooo!!! A trio of champions!

Love them...I can only wish.

it all started with the same kind of wishing.... :) . nt.

the place for the 4th chrono may stay empty for some while since

I have the gut feeling that when a chronograph is launched in the Historique line it will be with the new inhouse chrono movement which isn't due for another 2-3 years!!

However SIHH 2009 is just 7 months away and you may see something you like

That's an amazing chrono collection!!

thanks for managing my expectation. :) i have already placed my queue.
05/03/2008 - 07:18

.... with my dealer pre-SIHH, but i'll patiently wait for it. good things are worth waiting. btw, i wish that the VC team can take their time to improve the pusher feel with the new in-house chronograph over the lemania based, then i can have my grail chronograph.

I like the trio. Particularly lave the movement in the Dato, case and dial are not for me, but the historique is my type of watch. Great case design, fantastic movement, and classic dial...the complete package.

Wear them in good health.

Mr L

John, thanks and totally agree with u. the dato movement is really..
05/03/2008 - 07:31

something, the chronograph mechanism is grail, precise and correct pusher feel to me. VC would have completed the package if it matched dato's movement, however, it is my favourite among the three. :)

but i have the feeling that it will be overtaken in 2-3 years time, if u know what i mean.

I think I know what you mean
05/03/2008 - 13:52

and look forward to seeing a picture showing it on your wrist.

I also agree 100% about the Dato, their movement is what all chrono's should strive for. If its not perfection its the next closest thing.  Wouldn't it be interesting to see what Vacheron could design around the dato movement.

Hi All!

Gorgeous watches them all... but just distant dreams for my budget. My only chance of getting something that has some of the classicism of the VC would be the AP Jules Audemars chronograph in steel... but I understand ts movement is not quite up to par.

best,

Jaime

I owned the AP Jules Audemars chrono for some time and loved

every second of it. Great watch

Hi Alex,

I knew there would be somebody else in the HL that would appreciate that watch! Could you possibly expand on the reasons why the movement  in the AP JA chrono is not up to par to other chronograph movements?

best,

Jaime

I think that the main issue is that the cal 2226/2841 used in the

Thanks for the explanation Alex. I wonder if at the moment of a watch genesis', when it's just a concept, a decision of using a chronograph module was taken on the basis of cost alone, cost together with perhaps the availability of a certain particular movements, etc., etc.??

I do not know the reason why for the choice of a modular

Sorry, late to the party!
