Retrograde 245 serial number (is it a fake?)

Hi, I am new to VC (converting from Rolex), and have been looking into purchasing retrograde 245.  The problem is, I do not know enough about how to tell if it is genuine. I have seen one listed, with what I am told is a serial number (it appears on the tag behind "bte" and the same number is on the case back.  However, I have seen the same model of watch on another vendors (one that I would think is reputable) website, and the EXACT same number is in the exact same place (but they are not the same pictures), so, are they both fakes, or are they both genuine.  The number is 722222, which is also 1 diget longer than any other number I have seen in the same location, but I do not even know if that truely is the serial number, or some form of other number? Please help me! Im looking forward to purchasing a VC very much! ( I am also VERY interested in a WG Malte Grande Classique if there is any helpful hints to tell if one is genuine)

Thanks much, Beecher
Would you have a photo?

It looks like the real deal. I saw the dealer's site too. He is reputable but a bit pricey. You might want to send Bill Lind (WHL) a private message to see what he thinks. He's in the Boston area. JB

I have bought several pieces from this dealer. I have sent one to VC for routine service. They are good. Like JB said sometimes pricey but excellent service. That watch is good. I got my platiunum 47245 from him. This dealer buys from other dealers. So Internet search could find the same watch. Example is his current sautante. It was listed elsewhere. Hope this helps Best, Joe

so then the 722222 is not the serial number? the first two pics were from a a forum watch available, and the last on from an online vendor, what does that number refer to, as Im sure (tho i could be wrong) that I seen a similar retrograde pic with a 72860 number there?) thanks,

722222 is serial number 47245 is reference number. We can't see movement number.

It's actually the serial number of the case. There is a separate S/N on the movement and they have to match with the certificate and VC's records. JB
It definitely looks genuine

Thought multiple vendors having that watch, with the same case serial number, is a bit strange.  Maybe these vendors are all using the same picture, or this watch is being promoted through several sales channels simultaneously? Here is a picture of the back of my 47245 (love the watch BTW!) The case serial number is not that clear in this picture, but it is the unique case number for this watch. Best Regards, Dan
