It seems the last couple of years have seen a real "changing of the guards." As Alex pointed out, he was a moving force in watch design and helped elevate the status of watch designers.  Many of his original designs are still as fresh and popular now as when they saw the first light of day and I am sure his legacy will live on. RIP
his designs seem quirky at first glance but timeless....

He had largely influenced Watches designs. Hope his imput will be followed in the same spirit of elegance and purity. My thoughts to his family. Liger

He was an icon in the world of haute horlogerie, and a trail blazer for other great designers who followed him. His world famous Royal Oak design from 1972 broke the mold and opened a new realm of luxury sport watches such as the PP Nautilus and VC ref. 222. I send my condolences and sympathies to his family. Rest in peace. Best, Mike
