12/07/2010 - 12:53
santa gets too choose the one he will give me
that's a freaky looking Santa there! I want something bespoke which
12/07/2010 - 13:32
would be a 40mm 6087 chrono in steel/RG and monopusher6087 chronograph on a more affordable note a Patrimony Contemporaine Bi-retrograde in RG what would you want Oliver?
A Mercator (like the Linger's one) or
12/07/2010 - 14:06
or the one of Mister A*** and a chinese funeral Mask (from Mister A***) will be nice also or a simple Cortina bi-retro :
and as a non VC I would love a Habring Dead Seconds:-) (nt)
12/07/2010 - 15:23
That Cornes de Vache
12/07/2010 - 17:33
would make a wonderful re-issue too
I had contacted the bespoke department for this watch a few
12/07/2010 - 18:03
years back and they took so much time getting back to me and they kind of let it die off. Whan I asked Vc why I wasn't getting the same treatement as a "regular" client I was told that they felt uncomfortable because they were working on the idea themselves
Maybe it's time has come? nt

Good question, Alex
12/08/2010 - 20:43
The lens I want for my Leica M is not deliverable since month. 2011 could be a good year for new/interesting watches and therefore maybe I should ask Santa for something like a voucher Cheers Oliver
I wish a 2011 novelty as
12/07/2010 - 14:14
A new Patrimony Traditionnelle with a complication never really seen. I have to wait For 2010, I think Santa... pleased me with this incredible Mercator. THANKS Liger

My wish -1st that Daddy stop singing when putting me to bed, I can't sleep with this awful song rumbling in my head. (in fact that's what I wish for my daughter to wish ) -2nd: an Historique 1955 in platinum with a multitone brushed salmon dial like this pocket watch without roman indexes and small second cheers Francois

12/07/2010 - 18:04

12/08/2010 - 10:37
Thunderbird? Chronomètre Royal?
did u get the ref 63940 with cal k1071 because....
12/08/2010 - 10:23
i was late to the snipe as i was holidaying in the resort surfing some watch porn when i come across this watch, called and it was sold. it could have been my christmas present. i speculate that i must have lost to someone from the lounge  (VC collector). on a deeper note, VC is an amazing brand which toyed with the art decor theme with different iterations of the same movement, producing a wide varietal of beautiful hand-worked cases, which made collecting so interesting and yielding so much value. i know sharing these thoughts will make collecting more competitive, but couldn't help myself dwelling deeper into their amazing heritage and singing praises.
Sorry for your loss.

You're very good Aaron

how to miss this reference with its uncluttered simplistic dial...
12/09/2010 - 03:45
bark outer bezel, fluted lugs and the impressive movement, not forgetting the easy-to-wear size. As a japan watch web site puts it, Simple Best ! the other watch which i really liked is the reference 6308 with cal 454/5B.  congrats for the good catch and wear in good health.

I would like a: Tribute to Great Explorers, or a Mercator, or on the less expensive-side, a Historiques 1921. BTW, my daughter, who is probably the only 4-year old Japanese girl who can say "Vacheron Constantin", has asked me to write Santa for a watch too!!  Its a good thing that when I asked her what kind of watch she wanted, she just said "a pink one"....whew! Best regards, Kazumi
you can get her this....
12/07/2010 - 18:06
Or this....
12/07/2010 - 19:52
The work of VC&A is really impressive lately, and more than a little VC influence I think
I agree. The Le Pont des Amoureux by Van Cleef & Arpels...
12/08/2010 - 15:42
I don't agree with you on getting my daughter a watch from VC&A (at least not for now).  But I do agree that there are some similarities to VC wactches in some of VC&A's watches (although coincidental)  A good case in point would be the award-winning Le Pont des Amoureux by Van Cleef.  As you can see, it is just a romantic/feminine presentation of the same retrograde principle as VC's Mercator (with the display turned 180 degrees)! Best regards, Kazumi
my favorite watch of 2010!!! (nt)
12/08/2010 - 15:43
Thanks. But, for now, I can still get away with a $10 piece (nt)
12/08/2010 - 15:28
I have been both good and bad. Do I at least qualify for a piece...
12/07/2010 - 22:51
of mind?  and a piece of metal like this: Ok, I'd settle for this beauty...
santa is definitely not delivering the mercator i wish for this year,,
12/08/2010 - 10:09
maybe, next year , he will.
Re: Santa ...

My wish is black 1990 countach in mint condition.  But santa doesn't presents things that you can get without his assistance, so I do not expect to get under the new year tree this pretty ton of steel :)) So my wish ticket I will use to ask peace in the world. Sure people will be happy :)
