Scan of something EXTREMELY rare

the Atelier Cabinotiers skeleton minute repeater in to 15 pieces and all spoken for within the blink of an eye!!

It houses the caliber 1755: the thinnest minute repeating movement in the world, only 3.30 mm thick with 330 parts, each individually finished by hand. Just have a look at the blued gongs!

Vacheron Constantin is known among aficionados to offer the best skeletonising and one of (if not the) best sounding repeaters on the market so you can imagine the mix of the two!

How does the sound compare with the Traditionnelle? Bill

In terms of quality of chimes
04/27/2007 - 19:04

both were fantasticly crisp and clear. However the Patrimony Traditionnelle was louder without loosing any of the crystalline effect. In fact the Patrimony was amazingly loud!

The fact that the Patrimony has a rose gold case which supposedly is a better metal for sound could explain the difference in loudness.

just fantasic, thanks Alex! (nt)

Will the Gold Version...

...continue to remain in production?

Back orderes will be respected but VC will not be taking any new
04/28/2007 - 11:20

orders for the rose gold model.

Does that mean they will be launching...

...something new to replace it? Perhaps later this year?

well lets look at it this way, the 1755 caliber will no longer
04/28/2007 - 17:06

be used in any other new production piece, however since VC has just introduced the caliber 2577 I'm sure it won't be long until we see a simple repeater (with and without skeletonised movement). However it won't be this year.

Will the VC Malte Tourbillon continue...
04/30/2007 - 09:15 remain in production?

Yes and you'll have a nice surprise later this year (nt)

Stunning, extremely, fantastic are all words that are worned out, but in this case, what is there to be said ? It's a marvellous watch in all ways, creation, movement, lugs and finishing. When Alex says : "one of (if not the) best sounding repeaters on the market ", I think he is a little bit discreet, since of all the repeaters I have heard, live or recorded, Vacheron&Constantin has always been in a class of it's own. Remember all the sound tests and "competitions", we have had at ThePuristS through the years. Including the old pocket watches, which have even more beautiful sounds. It has always been one outstanding watchmaker. Vacheron Constantin. Thanks for lovely pics, Alex ! Would it be possible to arrange a sound file? Doc

I'm working on something better than a sound file, you'll
04/28/2007 - 11:21

have a short video of these repeaters!
