It was very interesting indeed, thanks Dan for sharing! Funny that even the President didn't discover this secrect passion of an artisan supporter, maybe he was not a real big fan of watches, otherwise he would have opened the back - it's more fascinating than the front, non?

Even if Abe was not a WIS (and it's a good thing that a U.S. President is not an Idiot Savant, of any kind ), he is still my favorite President!     At least he liked it enough to take it with him to Washington as one of his few personal belongings. BR, Dan

Hi Dan, Thanks for the link, interesting story. I guess maybe Lincoln never opened the back of his watch because: a) He was too busy b) He thought that everything would fly out c) He thought watches were to tell time and who gives a sh*t what's inside. OR He did open it and couldn't read the script anyway, thinking it was just a watchmaker's dedication to him. Je te taquine (Just teasing Joseph
