Sent one of my babies off for service today

The Vacheron Constantin I bought my wife at auction in February just stopped running late last week.  The mainspring is fully wound but the movement is not ticking.  So, off to New York and then Geneva she has gone.  I knew that this watch was going to require service soon; but I was hoping for not this soon.

I didn't even get a chance to take my own picture of it.  Until she returns, I will have to be content with the pic from the auction catalogue.

Your wife is a lucky woman :-) I systematically send watches bought at

auction for servicing at least when they come back they are mint!

I know what I should have done

But, my wife wanted to enjoy the watch for a while before it went on a 9 month sabbatical to Geneva.

The upside is that I might get to exorcise my auction bidding demons on her behalf in the next week or so.  A girl cannot be without, you know.

Take it from another angle. Buy yourself a watch and let her

wear it... not too often

Can't work.  I am a strap kind of guy and she is a bracelet kind of girl.  I have been know to wear her SS Reverso a time or two, however.

complicated! How about each of you getting a watch for the other?
