Service

Hi

I have my 49005 in for service, and I have nothing heard from VC for four weeks. Is that normal?

regards

John

Hi John, this may be normal.

Did you bring your watch to an authorized dealer in Denmark, or did you send it in to VC directly?  Did you receive and sign the service estimate? (The estimate will also give you an estimated time for completion of the service).

I usually hear nothing back from VC until the service is completed and they want to send the watch back to me.

It was send by the AD here in Denmark, and I have heard nothing. Not even the estimate.

I'm sorry to hear about this

I would think that the communications process could be improved and you should be informed about the timing of the entire process.  It takes me 4-8 weeks to get an estimate back when I send vintage watches to Richemont US that they need to send back to Geneva for service.

Watches that can be serviced locally are usually faster in terms of both the inital estimate and service times.

I just got the estimate today, now a just have to wait 2-3 months :-).

I have lost my "user guide" for the watch, do you have any idea if VC can replace it?

John

I don't know if they will give you another hard copy, but I thnk you can ask.

I think most of the information is available on VC's website though.   BR, Dan

If slow service is a world-wide problem why doesn't Vacheron Constantin license more watchmakers world-wide to work on their watches and/or make VC parts more readily available to good watchmakers?

I've been told that there is a real problem with having not only VC's but also all watch brands repaired.

Something needs to be done.

VC has been so nice to send me a manual in pdf format cool

a watchmaker goes through 4 years of watchmaking school and the ones at Vc also have an extra 2 year

Hi

Got my 49005 back from service yesterday. VC was kind enough to give me a new copy of the manual. Now I just have to learn to enjoy a repair that I can not see :-)

John

I'm glad to hear you got your watch back.

Its easy to enjoy knowing the watch was recently serviced and operating properly.  It's the same way I feel after getting my car serviced, its peace of mind knowing that this machine is running properly while I am using it. smiley
