The elusive VC Montblanc...
01/28/2012 - 18:28
Ken, do you know if the VC Montblanc was available only as a ballpoint? Also appreciate some close-up shots of the pen's design

I don't have a great macro lens (something I need to correct) but I'll pull out the tripod and find a way to get some decent and even light to capture the details. The pen is very hard to photograph - the combination of the reflective silver and the black barrel is killer to capture. I'll post the best shots later this afternoon.

Wow! I'm in love with the fountain! Could you tell me where can I find it, please? Thanks so much!
the Montblanc for VC I posted is a ballpoint

Wow, beautiful combination

Thanks for sharing. Robert
Love that pen and the Ultra-fine 1955

I admire that Historiques model more and more.
Just a quick shot from the iPad, a well known

glove to accompany the elusive pen. It does come in a fountain variety too. The watches are not with me tonight. There have been several deals signed with this pen and yes, some of the signers asked if they could have the pen as part of the deal. The answer was always a resounding, NO! Best to all, Tim
The Hour Pen goes well with the Hour Glove Tim

Is this possible, your watches aren't with you! Good thing you have something VC to fondle
01/29/2012 - 23:55
including your dad's.
As you may already know...I tend to be VERY loyal to a brand
01/30/2012 - 09:02
after I've developed an attachment. It usually takes a significant, negative, event for me to change afterwards. Just like my collecting VCs only when it comes to watches, when it comes to writing instruments - I only buy Montblancs. (please excuse the pencil that I snuck into the picture. Being a post about pens, it is so inappropriate, ) BR, Dan
Those are killer shots, Dan

What a nice collection? And that V&C is lovely. Best, respo

Dan, if you get a moment, can you describe the differences? What attracts you to Montblanc out of all the brands? Is that a palladium finish on the bottom pen?
Its Pt plated, not Pd. :-)

I actually find it interesting that a fountain pen can have a retractable nib...that's why I just bought 2 of these Boheme FPs. And the reason you see so many pens in the picture is because Daisy keeps taking them. :-O. ;-)
some amazing pens and watches in this thread!

You want pens? OOOOKAY!

Sorry, I'm a bit late to this thread, i had to find time to take the pics. Here are a few. I like some Montblancs too, Below are three music related ones: These are tributes to Leonard bernstein (top) and Yehudi Menuhin (lower) A tribute to the great conductor, Georg Solti The Jules Verne set, fountain pen, pencil and ball-point. Caran D'Ache Modernista (1996) Visconti Divina, a tribute to the Golden Ratio Sailor Susutaki Bamboo with Nagahara King Eagle Nib Two more from Sailor, Moolit Forest Maki-e and Green Meteor both with Nagahara nibs Close up of Moonlit Forest shawing details of inlay. My favourite, the Pilot/Namiki Nightline Yukari with urushu laqueur technique, mother of pearl, gold and abalone. This is the original series from the 1980's, not the new one. And this photo has a little bonus too

I take my hat off to you
02/03/2012 - 20:40
My goodness, do you have enough room for all of these? If not, I'll take care of a few for you . Agreed, that Namiki MOP inlayed pen is stunning...wasn't that supposed to represent the New York skyline?
A city at night
02/03/2012 - 21:56
It was supposed to be an impression of a city with skyscrapers (or as the French call them "sky-scratchers") at night with a starry sky. However, in all the reading I did, I never came across a reference to new York City.
