Now that is one gorgeous movement! Who needs a dial and case when you have something so harmonious and esthetically pleasing...hard to do in a movement. But the perlage, anglage, shape and layout of the bridges are  a work of art. Whatever the case is, I hope it has an exhibition back! Joseph
How is the cal. 4400/1 different from the 4400?

Doesn't the NYC Boutique 1921 have 4400/1? I guess this movement has been put in another 'special' of the 1921! Ooh, Platinum? White gold? Ahh? G
If VC were putting a complication on top of the 4400....

they would give it a different calibre number, so I'm guessing that it is another simple watch with this movement, perhaps an Excellence Platine edition of something in current production (1921 or Patrimony Traditionelle). Bill
So, Bill, you have raised my biggest fear...
01/17/2013 - 21:14 Excellence Platine edition of the 1921, which would throw me into a tailspin.  But the thought had occurred to me this morning.  surprise  Has VC ever issued an Excellence Platine edition of a Les Historiques model?  And VC has already used the cal. 4400 in the E.P. Patrimony pocket watch, so it would seem strange to use it again.  Obviously, I am all worked up about this. frown I am hoping that the hint means that VC will be using the 4400 as I thought it was originally intended, as an easy-to-service base movement onto which VC could add other complications.  This may still be the case given this hint -- this may be the 4400/1 before a complication is added and the cal. number changed.  Or perhaps the 4400 is going into a new time-only model... I am both excited and concerned.  I am awfully fond of this caliber. Best, Robert
a perfection for another Les Historiques release?!

just thinking out loud - it could still be an assymetric/tonneau/squarecase since most of the Malte releases last year were not fitted with a form movement. Let's hope for a funky reinvention from VCyes
