Small Seconds dials

I am looking at some watches with a small seconds dials from the 50's. If the small seconds is layouted as a cross is there any rule about the lenght of the hand when it comes to originality?

Just to clearify. Here are two examples one with longer and one with shorter hands than the cross itself. The hands on most of the watches I have seen are the same lenght as the cross. Can they both be original?

and can't find an example of a crosshairs subdial where the hand is longer than the markers.  Its also missing the ampersand.
