I just got back from SIHH and had a great time with Vacheron. Below are some photos from the trip. Dinner was on Sunday night, and the presentation was on Monday. Here we are entering the Salon on Mon afternoon.
As usual, SIHH is a step above Basel, with great food and decor
We arrived at the VC booth where Mr. G and the team from VC were waiting for us.
Once inside we started to see the new models. Below is something for the ladies
The new Overseas with rose gold bracelet
The day date
We also saw some sample customizations. Here is a rose gold and titanium piece
Mr. Torres explained to us the philosophy behind this new model, and how it fits well with Vacheron's history
Dealers will have a lot of support from VC in selling this new model. Below is a tablet PC that allows the collector to customize their piece.
There is also a briefcase aka "bag-o-tricks" that has samples of the different metals, straps, case, etc.
The new papers for VC models going forward, initially only for the QdI. It's a passport made by the same manufacturer that makes official documents. It's full of security features including micro printing and hidden messages that can be seen under UV light.
There were also some other new models. The chronometre in regular production, without the red 12
The Patrimony Contemporaine in platinum without the PT950 tattoo on the dial
The Malte Tonneau Chronographe
Outside in the booth they had some interesting displays. Here is the blown-up view of the QdI case
There was also a watchmaker showing how to make circular côtes de Genève
And here are some fellow Loungers. Mr. G and Mr. G
Mr. L asks a question
Mr. S listens attentively
Mr. B says "cu cu"
And last but not least, some wrist shots. Overseas USA LE
Toledo in platinum
And a lovely vintage piece
Another year and another fun time with Vacheron and their staff. A big thanks to Julien, Isabelle, Mr. Torres, and our moderator. I'm looking forward to 2009!
