Ah ha...now I know who the lucky person was! That looks very much like the one on fleabay recently. I chatted with the seller but failed to pull the trigger. It's beautiful and looks in great shape! Congratulations on an astute purchase.
Interesting that the dial has a vertically brushed finish, not the sunburst (soleil?) pattern on mine. Shows the wonderful variety of VC finishing that adds to our interest (and frustration at times).
How enthusiastic was the polishing...are the casemarks still clear?
Hello Tick talk
I am most happy you could not pull the trigger with the seller
allthough the polishing was guite bad the case marks and the sharp edges are still intact and clear
the lugs and back were polished by someone in let`s say half bright it did not look very good
I had them polished again in bright and it looks as you can see very good now
the back still looks a bit nasty but I haven`t decided what to do yet
out looking at your scan
It is indeed the ref. 6694 and the lugs are different as the ones on the yellow gold one I have
I think it is a very good example of the turn from the sixtiees to the seventies
a classic design but already here and there some sharp edges
here's my Batman..Strange how different case design carries the same Reference 6694...maybe VC did not have proper case back and used 6694? Anyway attached is real Batman! maybe yours is Robin! But great looking case.. Brian
