The Sound of Time Exhibition - Singapore - Part - 6 - Explanation

I was invited to the Gala Dinner of VC Singapore New Flagship Boutique Opening at ION Orchard Mall on Friday 7th November.  This also served as inaugration of 'The Sound of Time Exhibition' at Level 1 at the same mall.  Essentially it is a pop-up exhibition (a new trend in Singapore), and it is facinating.  Once you enter the 'long booth' you are captivated by recordings / sounds of VC chiming watches over the years.  Once you consider the 'gravity' of the timepieces you are seeing inside (18 of them in total), you could easily be in a miniature version of the Lourve or another top Art museum.  Timepieces at this level are Art and History at the highest level.  And I feel fortunate to have seen this exhibition.  I hope my average photos from Part - 1 to Part - 5 give a glimpse in VC Repeater Heritage.

Looks like you had a great time kk!

I saw this exhibit when it was in China, so I know the feeling you described.

Thanks for sharing all the great pictures.

A journey through the sounds over the years...

Kunal, a word of thanks for conveying both the spirit and content of the Exhibition.

It is tricky to obtain good photographs in such circumstances due to poor lighting, reflections and the like. You did well!

I'm extremely grateful for your efforts and commitment - hopefully it didn't intrude too much into what must have been a brilliant evening.

With all good wishes

Thanks for your kind words.

The photos I took the following Saturday.  The night of the dinner, we had trouble finding a taxi and it was raining heavily, so we reached an hour late, hence missing the cocktail.  However, I visited the exhibition the next day and took the photos in peace.

Great work, KK

yesyesyesyesyes Can't thank you enough. There is a lot of interesting information in the photos of the movements that confirms research that I have done in connecting with acquiring my pocket watches from V&C from 1830 (quarter repeater) and 1831 (time only). You are my own personal hero for the day.

 Cheers Kent.
