Speaking of Victorin Piguet...

Recently a group of us had the opportunity to see a number of VP repeater ebauches:

xxx yyy

Doesn't look like much, but apparently the quality of design and construction (e.g., screwed vs. riveted posts) is great...

Will be very cool to see these converted into finished watches!

Gary, you have my heart aflutter!

Can you provide more details, or is this a hush project for now?  BR, Dan
Here's a big hint :-)

At the atelier, with the stack of boxes and the Maestro, Kari Voutilainen: Imagine that raw ebauche once it is converted into one of Kari's unique decimal repeaters (chiming on hours, tens, and ones rather than quarter-hours) and subjected to the other-worldly finishing for which Kari is famous.  An example, here executed on what I believe is a vintage JLC (don't sue me if I recall improperly) ebauche: I have to confess that I am seriously tempted to sell off a big chunk of my collection to order one of these puppies -- but then the question becomes which ones to sell!  I'm down to the point at which I love every piece (including, of course, my VC watches...). Best, Gary
Lemme know what you wanna sell!

That is stunning, Alex!  With a tourbillon conversion thrown in, to boot... Modern, totally in-house movements are great, but there is a lot to be said for the creative re-working of concepts based on classic movement designs. Best, GaryG
