The "take your watch on vacation with style" contest

Some of us on the Lounge will be lucky to take some days off to pamper ourselves, relax and spend time with the loved ones.

During the day most of us will be wearing our beater Timex to play around with the kids, swim, hike or do whatever we like doing but does that Ironman look good with your tan while sipping a Strawberry Daiquiri on your yacht upon sunset?

Of course not! Your Tour de l'Ile will look much more in place but how to carry it?

Have no worries. To win the Vacheron Constantin leather watch holder below all you have to do is post under this theard the name of your favorite model indroduced at SIHH 2008.

If you don't know what VC introduced this year  just click here

The contest is open until Friday July 11 noon (Geneva time). The names of the 5 winners will be randomly drawn and announced soon thereafter.

Good luck The "take your watch on vacation with style" contest

For me, it's got to be the Overseas Chrono in rose gold.

Hi Alex! For me its the Malte Tourbillon Regulator in Platine

If I am not mistaken the bridge is also made in platinum which makes VC first in using the precious metal in its movement. So I chose Malte Tourbillon Regulateur in Plantine!

Overseas Chronograph in Rose gold on strap, which would be perfect for the kind of vacation Alex described.

It is my weakness for Rose Gold but the Overseas Chronograph

in RG on that sleek strap would be my choice. I will be in the Canadian Rockies this Summer and can you imagine that beautiful Overseas Chrono riding on my wrist in the Canadian sunset (close to 11pm up there)! What a great image indeed.

Good luck,

Tim

I'm surprised I'm the first one to say it...

QdI - simple time and date model (still not sure which combination is the best...)
I going to cry if I don't get a QdI
07/07/2008 - 21:29

I can picture myself under a palm-thached roof, a cool breeze blowing from the aqua-blue waters past the white sand beach, and as I gaze at my laptop madly congering up the various combinations of the QdI (through the link I know Alex will soon arrange at The Hour Lounge), I order another piña colada and wonder:

Will I choose the Automatic with Date, rose gold, rhodium plated movement with a light dial?

Or will it be the Day Date with Power Reserve, titanium case, rose gold bezel, ruthenium plated movement with a dark dial?

Or will a new favorite combination strike my fancy?

And how will I transport my QdI?  Perhaps in an official VC leather pouch?  Perhaps.  I wonder.  The only thing I'm sure about at this moment:  "Another piña colada, please."

Is there anyther choice? Overseas Chrono in Rose Gold on a strap.

Now when they put on a Croco Strap I may have to buy one. Miki

The watch I would like to take on vacation would have to be the Quai de I'lle with day date and power reserve...in titanium!

Call me "Old School" but I would prefer the Patrimony Contemporaine manual wind in Platinum.

I'll take the Patrimony Contemporaine PT.
07/08/2008 - 05:24

It has the style and feel of elegance & money  yet no one would take notice (just the way I like it). When it's time to swim or doing something that requires rigorous activites, I'd wear my Seiko. But Alex, I did wear my Malte chrono through Disneyland & Disney Sea ... Now, when do I get the case? LOL!

Here's my entry for this wonderful contest!!
07/08/2008 - 07:13

My vote would clearly be the Overseas Chronograph in Rose gold on a "dark brown rubber strap". The watch has all the features one could ask for plus its 150m water resistance and a rubber strap to adapt to all the planned activities with the family. This is clearly a winner to take all as an incredible overall sports watch!! Regards, Matt

Hi Alex,

I would go for the Contemporaine manual wind in PT.

The RG OS with strap is a close second though.

The RG OS would be my favorite singles bar watch though.

Best regards,

Kazumi

Even though i love the OS chronograph on strap...

I'd have to go with the date only QdI. *Wishes for a HL QdI edition*

My take: Malte Tourbillon Regulateur PT
