Thank you Geneva! My gold "disco volante" has returned

In 2012, I posted about my grandfather's cal 466/3B gold watch with hidden lugs and a "disco volante" bubble back.

He received it in the early 50s in Italy, and now it will be part of my collection.

I am happy to say that after a year's extravagent "vacation" in Geneva at the Vacheron-Constantin home, it has returned looking good as new.

Now I will consider whether to put a black or chocolate leather band on it.

Happy to hear any thoughts or comments. Right now I am just excited to have it back!

What a wonderfully cool watch!

That is so unique. Congratulations on a very special Vacheron Constantin!

I believe its 35 mm. Thanks for the suggestion the band as well.

May I ask

what was the extent of the restoration?

Re: May I ask

Certainly:

- Complete service: dismantling, cleaning and reassembly of the movement

- Reinforced Horn's Holes

- Replaced yellow gold crown w/ cross

- Replaced barrel bridge (oxidized from water damage)

- Replaced crystal

I am going to research and find my own strap for it. Love Alex's idea of brown suede!
