On this Thanksgiving Day, what are you thankful for ?

As for me, I am thankful for being healthy, having a roof on my head, enough to eat everyday, living with the man of my life (and in a country where I am free to speak my mind), and working with people whom I deeply respect.

I cannot be thankful for my VC yet but there's always hope THANKS

Happy Thanksgiving for those celebrating it and good day to everyone THANKS
Very well said Tacha...

and I would echo most of your sentiments, though I might balk at the "living with the man of my life" part and admittedly, Singapore is not necessarily known for its appreciation of free speech (just ask the WSJ).    However, there is so much to be thankful for and by the mere fact that we are participants and members of the THL community, we are far more fortunate than many others. Last night was another occasion for which I was thankful as it was an evening spent with good friends (including a couple of gentlemen from Geneva), enjoying some delicious food and appreciating fine watches (QDI workshop). Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and for those in the US, enjoy your turkey and football! And Tacha, I am sure that your VC will be on your wrist someday soon.  Cheers, Duncan
Agree but let me add...

I am thankful that under the global uncertainty that's happening right now, I still don't have to sell my VCs to put food on my table!  Also thanks to Alex for having all of us here!

Well said Tacha and agree with you 100%

you have outlined the most important aspects we all cherish so much. I like to add lets not forget there are some that are not doing as well and when the opportunity arises doing something to help them, whether by giving to a local food bank or giving a contribution to your favorite charity. It makes us all better for it. John

you're totally right Is it going to be a snowy Thanksgiving in New Hampshire?
Unfortunately wonderful it would look

Have you been to New Hampshire? A very small state but close to beaches, mountains, big cities (Boston, New York). Very comfortable. Where in France do you live? Been to paris (one of my favorite cities in the world), Aix, and Nice (wife's favorite). John

No, have never been there but I have spent a little bit more than a year (15 years ago... ouch... that hurts) in New Jersey, a 20mn drive from NYC and I loved every minute of it. The US and New York especially are my second home and a country very very dear to me. Was in New York for a few days last year around this time. I love this city! Have never felt like a foreigner over there. The period between Thanksgiving and Christmas is one of my favorite time of the year, so enjoy! Currently leaving in Paris (though originally from the South West of France, Bergerac) and loving it as well.
very true my dear John :-) (nt)

I too am thankful for many things today.  My health, my life, my family all the important things we sometimes take for granted and forget about. I'm also thankful for this Forum and all of the contributors.  To my mind it's the absolute best Forum in the watch world because of everyone's interest in everyone else.  There's a real feeling of caring that comes through in each and every post....that people here really care about one another and enjoy not only the people but the hobby and yes....the watches! I appreciate all of you that add a little something to my already fortunate life and especially Alex for running this Forum the way all of them should be a family with a real emphasis on all of the contributors not on him.  I saw a quote once that always stands out to me and when you interact with not only Alex, although he sets the tone, but all of you as well it captures my feeling better than any words I can say: " There are two types of people---those that come into a room and say "Well here I am" and those that come in and say, "Ah, there you are"." That's the feeling I always get here and I want you all to know I appreciate it.  Many thanks! All the Best, Tom
wow Tommy those are heart warming words, thank you (nt)

I am thankful for many things such as, a loving family, great friends, good health for my family and friends, and great doctors that are here in the USA to treat a some friends and family that have occasionally dealt with serious health issues. France is a beautiful place.  My Wife and I visited Nice and Monte Carlo a little over 7 years ago on our honeymoon and we had a wonderful time.  We hope to go back someday and visit Paris too.  Maybe if the dollar gets a bit stronger . Thanks for the great wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving and I hope that all Loungers and their families and friends have a wonder Holiday Season. Best regards, Dino
