The two coolest acquisitions ever!

Please enjoy and admire. I leave the comments up to you.

Firstly, a dream-come-true for a Toledo fan that I am - its original predecessor a 1952 Cioccolatone

The two coolest acquisitions ever!
the case is amazingly well preserved

The two coolest acquisitions ever!
the dial looks pretty wit a bit of patina already settled in

The two coolest acquisitions ever!
I still can't believe I found this piece and it is triple signed with all the hallmarks in right places

The two coolest acquisitions ever!
perfect condition movement is all you can ask for...

Secondly, an ultimate and impeccable St. Gervais

The two coolest acquisitions ever!
I know I am crazy but this is THE watch that has been haunting me in my dreams ever since I saw it. I regret for not being able to get the piece unique at the 250th anniversary auction in Geneva in 2005The two coolest acquisitions ever!

The two coolest acquisitions ever!
I guess the watch is prettier than ever from the caseback side...

Please allow a couple of days for the excitement to settle in as these have arrived just this morning, I will get the wristshots taken and posted here soon!!!

Alex, do you know the origin of the French expression for April Fools (poisson d'avril, I think)? Joseph

Congrats or not, wonderful choices nevertheless, I agree completely, Radek. They are my choices as well! Regards, Joseph
Is this an April Fool day joke???
04/01/2009 - 14:06
The Ciocco, that I could believe - I know you've been looking for one of those for a loooong time... but the St-Gervais? Are you kidding me??? Next thing you'll say is that you've got one of the Tour de l'Ile on order... If this is for real, than I bow down to you Radek, those are two AMAZING pieces!!! The Ciocco is of course a real classic, and I know how much you love that style, I am so happy to hear that you finally got your hands on one. The watch has so much character already, but with the patina it looks even better! But the St-Gervais... The St-Gervais... I still cannot believe it. This has to be a joke. This is the kind of watches that one dreams about, and that's that. Whoa.  ... I'm speechless. Really.  As you said, one of the ultimate VCs, a pure work of art and a mechanical marvel! QP, Tourbillon, 250 hours power reserve (if my memore serves me right...)... And a look to die for -  both from the front and the back. I adore the finishing on the dial, and I'm also a HUGE fan of the 3-D Geneva Seal up front. The only thing missing is the sculpted moonphase While I my entire body is green with envy, I am sooo happy to hear that such a special watch is going to such a special person - you were made for each other. My personal taste, but I much prefer this version to the black dial piece unique. May they both time only happy moments! Radek, please let not this be a joke, I would be sooo disappointed - I would kill to see this baby in the metal, and remember that my little Olivier will be marrying one of your girls, and he told me that he REALLY likes the St-Gervais. I'm REALLY looking forward to the wrist shots of the St-Gervais Congrats again! Cheers,  Francois
No way, is Olivier going to be my son-in-law? ;-)))) (nt)
04/01/2009 - 14:18
Probably not, since you are NOT getting the St-Gervais ;-)
04/01/2009 - 14:38
I am not speaking to you anymore You had me dreaming there for a while...
since we're speaking about the St-Gervais, here's a link

Congratulations, my friend....
04/01/2009 - 16:26
Congratulations, my friend!!  (You've been hanging out with Alex too much) I think you had most of us going there.  Like John said, I think only you (or maybe JB) could have pulled this one off. However, knowing you, you would have posted actual pictures instead of the images (am I right?). Still, I do wish I was wrong because these are lovely pieces that anyone would die for. Cheers! Kazumi
Don't you just love the Ciocco, Kazumi? ;-))))) (nt)

I want to buy a lot together with you,
04/01/2009 - 21:56
than I think I take a flight and work for some days in Poland, seems as there are raining VC's there. The first one is a keeper for life The other I never have got overexcited over, sorry to say! I was at the auction and handle the unique ones, but no, not my watch, but there I'm quite lonely I know! The Geneva Seal onthe dial ruins the whole beautiful watch... otherwise the dial is marvellous Both are in tremendous conditions!! Anyhow double congratulations and the first I think is on your wrist right now? Wear them in health and happiness Hej, Doc
April Fool's day, Mats! ;-))))) (nt)

Good to see that you are playful. That's a good thing as it keeps you young. Best regards, Matt
