Two Vacheron, but which?

we have two Vacheron watches from my wives grandmother. Yesterday we visitied two Watches Retailer, both said they are valuable, but we won´t find anybody who will buy them. Put it in the safe, but nobody is interested in this. It was a funny conversation

Maybe you can tell me more about the two watches. I didn´t find anything on google about them. Grandmother said, one have smallest clockwork, the other is the tinest vacheron.
We don´t know if they are working, one has a water damage, the other a little rust.

thank you in advance

Hi there.  The clam-shell case for the men's yellow gold watch is from the 50s and very nice to have.  Without showing us the movement, its only an educated guess that, from the time period, it has either the elegant caliber 1001 or the revolutionary-for-the-time caliber 1003.  Judging by your jewelers comments, the 1003 may be the one.  If the case and movement numbers were recorded, these can be researched here for a definitive date and model.Caliber 1003 The second watch is a much easier proposition, as the case shape clearly indicates the historic V&C caliber 1005 back-winder.  This rectangular movement has the distinction of being the longest continuous caliber in use by VC today!  Both pieces are special, as are all vintage V&C watches, however current tastes do not favor them as much.  Hence the advice to put them away until the qualities of these watches are in demand again...which is already happening insofar as thin being a horological virtue again enlightened.Caliber 1005

Man.  What a problem to have? Both are works of art, IMO.  Put them in the safe deposit box, along with the deed to your house and other valuables.  Your heirs will thank you.
