The "ultimate fake" watch.

No blurry pics here, Berny surprise
I think this is based on the 3970 with a Lemania movement.
It looks quite real but of course is light not being gold.
The front is convincing on superficial regard.
The back looks half-decent until you take a closer look and see the crappy perlage on the bridges and the very poor finishing.
But this type of fake is the most dangerous because it can fool people who are not knowledgeable and want a bargain.
Here are some pics.
BTW it does rin well and the chrono even works!

The "ultimate fake" watch.

The "ultimate fake" watch.

The "ultimate fake" watch.

The "ultimate fake" watch.
This is getting scary :-(

Agree, scary. The dial is pretty close to the original, but the sub dials don't touch the inner ring on the original. The 5070(p) is a beautiful reference yes
There's no substitute for knowledge and experience...

Joseph, thank you for this particular insight into the world of watch forgery. It's a minefield!indecision However, it is somewhat reassuring that THL plays an important role in this field - both helping and advising interested parties to avoid the pitfalls and not take everything at face value. This input is, I feel, most crucial for both existing and prospective VC owners albeit rather challenging at times when faced with 'unsavoury' submissions. Keep up the good work! Tony
Here is a very well made FAKE VC

I'm showing this just to demonstrate what some "high-end" copies can look like, it is very scary for those that don't live and breath VC.
this one is horribly scary as to a non trained eye this could pass for

real angry
The dial is very convincing

but not the movement. However, for someone not familar with Vacheron, they would be an easy prey. Caveat emptor! JB
I'd say an unsuccessful try to mix the Malte hands and grande date

With a vintage like dial and 247 like Roman numerals and tear drop indices from some minute repeaters all packed into a Patrimony lookalike case. Too much of everything can make you sick...
