Vacheron at the 2011 Salon QP

I was very happy when I knew James Gurney's decision to change the location of the Salon QP. By moving it from One Marylebone to the Saatchi Gallery, I had the feeling that the Salon would improve and it was actually the case with a more comfortable, brighter venue.

Vacheron had a very impressive booth with 3 artists and their worktables: Celine, the watchmaker, Jeanne the engraver and Supachai the guillocher. Of course, the main timepieces of the collection were displayed and it was a great pleasure to meet and discuss with the whole Vacheron team.

I propose to browse some pics to give you an idea of the atmosphere.

The beauty of the skeletonized 1120:

The booth was focussed on the Metiers d'Arts with the strong presence of the Chagall:

And his XIXth century machine!

Engraving this part requires a lot of skills. Jeanne can be very proud of the result!

A beautiful and unusual timepiece, the Chagall:

I would like to thank a lot the whole Vacheron UK staff for the warm welcome and of course our friend Alex Ghotbi for his passion and the time he dedicates to all of us!

They've put a spike through Alex' head! :-) Great, great report FX -- and great display by VC. NIce watch, too, Alex! Best, Gary
don't worry it

wasn't painful, that head is full of  nothing but hot air anyway
What is Alex wearing, please?
11/19/2011 - 04:57
It really looks like the Historiques Aronde, but in a white metal.
Is it one of those offered in advance to the Japanese market
11/19/2011 - 11:02
Yes it does look like the Aronde in white metal.  I wouldn't be surprised if the Aronde in WG (or PT) debuts at SIHH 2012, but since it is a little too early for Alex to be flaunting one out in public, maybe he is wearing one of those pieces offered earlier in the Japanese market.  Of course, you never know with the Don. Best regards, Kazumidevil
spot on buddy :-)

I also love the Patrimony that Celine wears. This watch is very photogenic.
