Vacheron and Constantin Concierge Service...As good as it gets!

All of my fellow Loungers please consider using this wonderful V&C service.

Because a puppy wanted to try on Luca's 1912, a new strap was required.

I tried several major ADs in the US found none in stock, bastard size 17x14.

Needless to say all were willing to order one ($375.US+S&H) 8-12 week wait.

I contacted Alex who graciously recommended the V&C Concierge Service.

A day after I Emailed them I got a response with a toll free phone number.

A courtious and knowledgeable man directed me to Ashley in their NY office.

Ashley's level of service and patience was everything to hope for and more.

Not only was my strap in stock but what color would I like, shinny or matte?

Out of respect to all of the Vacheron ADs, I'm not sure about reporting the cost.

After decades of dealing with HSWA, I even have a friend there, this was better!

1st class watches with 1st class service! Thanks for sharing

That is great news!!! I am so happy to learn of this service and customer service excellence at their NY offices. Can you share with us the email address and toll free number for future use and our records. Have no need at present, but would like that for my files with my VC watch. Many thanks to Alex for looking after us on the Lounge. Congrats!!! Regards, Matt

Miki, many thanks for the information. Good to know for the future. I have a wonderful AD, but I always like the whole picture to be known by me. In the meantime, my VC OSC is working like the atomic clock in Colorado. One day I hope there will be a rubber strap available for my model with easy installation that Ashley can assist with. Regards, Matt

details of VC's Concierge Service only available in North America can

be found directly on VC's web site. I agree they seem to be a 1st class act

Service Details?
08/06/2008 - 20:27

Alex, I've hunted around on the NA website but cannot find details about this service - only a template to submit a request for information.  Can you point me in the right direction?

Funny seeing the VC website again.  The format is that of a digital magazine rather than an interactive tool.  The communication is traditional and one-way.  I really expect full transparency and feel somewhat suspicious when the internet is used as a lure to draw me into contact with "sales" people.

IMHO this is a "Service Site" and not a sales site as you feared.

Granted service hopefully leads to sales, but enjoy the service!

All really great hotels offer a Concierge that is "at your service".

This is this simplest way to describe the quality of sevice given.

No one attempted to sell me anthing, only provide me a service.

I would not be touting this, even for "The Don", if it wasn't great.

Think about it: Would Luca ever lie to you? Best to all, Miki

the Concierge service is not at all a sales service but
08/06/2008 - 23:09

only there for information: you are looking for a specific watch ask them and they will guide you towards an AD near you who has that model, you want a strap same thing. You want a catalogue they send it to you. You have specific questions on size , calibers etc... they answer.

They don't sell or lure you into anything, they just answer questions.

To contact them, go to the VC website North America, click on Contacts and you will see a link re the Concierge Service.

Regarding your comments of the web site, what would you like to see more interactive? Its always good to have feedback to see what can be bettered.

Sorry I wasn't very clear....

that my comments about a sales lure were directed at the website and not the concierge service.  Need to use more words next time!!

So, my issue with websites in general is that there are those that "get it" and those that don't.  A website, to be useful and therefore used, must be interactive and not one-way.  When I find that I'm being held captive by music tracks, flash presentations and multi-level screens that are big on pictures and small on info, I really turn off.

Just two minutes ago I followed a link to learn about a new mapping software.  Unfortunately, it was a three minute musical slide show that flashed a big bold sales pitch and didn't provide much technical info on the product.  I killed it without suffering through to the end.

To me there is a huge difference between the passive nature of TV or print ads and the new era of internet marketing.  Those that have skills with the former are not always good with the internet.

The basic things I look for on the internet, that I would not expect in other forms of communication, is intuitive and quick access to information.  I want to find what I want, not what the company wants me to find or in the order they want to present it.  The info I seek is both technical, corporate, archival, and interactive.  Several websites I use have either a voice or text service rep available online to consult as you browse.  The best also have access to technical info and Audemars Piguet does.

Thanks for sharing...

your experience with us.

In today's market, there are many terrific watches from a wide range of brands and manufactures.  VC, besides producing some of the world's finest timepieces, provides truly superior service and that comes from the great people in the organization.  The folks exude the same qualities as the watches, class and quality.  These are the hallmarks for a top flight company in any industry, watches or otherwise.

While I have not specifically used the Conceirge Service, and in fact am not particularly familiar with it, I have had extensive dealings with a number of VC folks and have always found them to be extremely helpful and always willing to go the extra mile to help you.

All of us, as VC fans and collectors, are a fortunate group and also because we have the Hour Lounge!

As you well know, I can only report on my personal experience. Best, Miki

never say never but European countries are
08/08/2008 - 11:52

small and have few VC ADs so in general its easy to take care of oneself but the US being so big and the AD's sometimes so far away that maybe the Concierge service is a must have and not a nice to have.

But you may be on something....what would you like to see a "European" Concierge service do?

Great to see VC efficiency

and make you please by finding the right answer Miki.
