Vacheron cal. 1071

Some picures of my Vacheron cal. 1071
the bezel is with a woven texture they call it clos de Paris I beleive, correct me if I am wrong
the diameter is 36 mm.

look at the lugs and the beautty of the dial

I am beginning to like these dials much more than the ones with a date they are I think more in balance

Victor

stunning case Victor!! the pattern is not a Clous de Paris

which is hobnail.

However, the weave like patern is gorgeous and must have been hell to make! Its truley gorgeous. You're lucky...but you already know it

I also agree with you about the date, I much prefer having a plain dial

Alex, for this woven-pattern case, do you know what its official name is?

Regards,

Joe

I'll check even though I'm not sure there actually is an official name

Beautiful watch, and your watch will be more beautiful if you will refresh the case .

Great looking watch...

That woven pattern is very cool.  I've never been a fan of textures like the hobnail pattern often seen on PP Calatravas, but that woven pattern is really interesting.  Thanks for sharing some pix.

Best regards,

Dino

Hi Victor,

Fabulous piece ! Incredible details such as the guilloche bezel, the lugs and the way the crown is attached to the case.

Yesterday, I received an article per mail (via a friend-collector) about the VC automatic movements (cal 1019/1 - 1070 - 1071 - 1072 - 1072/1) with examples of the refs that used them. The article showed a ref 6394Q: your piece but with a (dial-spoiling ;-) ) date window (the Q indication). The article states that there have been several variants: with or without date but also with different dials. The mention a very special dial with vertical hour markers ! Speaking about special... However, all share the same case with elaborate guilloche (?) case bezel and handsome lugs.

Very nice article actually and I would be happy to scan it and forward the pdf.

Congrats on yet another nice VC !

Best regards,

Mark
