Is this a Vacheron Constantine?

Is this a Vacheron Constantine?

The watch is serial # 29899 .  The inside back cover has written on it "CYLANDER ESCAPEMENT"  "FOUR HOLES JEWELL"D".  To the left of where the hands are set it is marked "Hands".  The winding hole has a cuved arrow wiht two tails around it.  Below it is maked "Vacheron"  and "Geneva" in gothic script inside a fancy cartouche.

The back cover is Hallmarked with a lion passant for sterling silver, Gothic letter "G" that is the letter for Geneva, and what appears to be a leopard's head.  In the center it is marked with the initials "VMJ" in an oval.    It has an open face with silver dial and gold roman numerals. Is this a Vacheron Constantine? Is this a Vacheron Constantine?
There is definitely no indication of a Vacheron&Constantin PW in it

Hello, The marks stamped into this case back indicate the following: Lion's head: London Lion passant: Sterling silver Gothic "G": Year 1842 The "rune-like" marks framed with flourishes and situated just below the word Vacheron seem to resemble the spelling "Geneva" at a quick glance... but do not upon proper inspection.  My guess is that back in 1842 this may have been a deliberate attempt to deceive uninformed purchasers regarding the watch's manufacture. As a collector, I've come across numerous examples of counterfeiting the prestigious maker-names, already during the 18th and 19th centuries... not only in present times Kind regards.

I see this is your for post, but I am guessing you may have visited before? Thanks for all the details, it is great for us (or at least me) to learn from your collection experience. Do you collect vintage PW, VCs, or any other theme? Best Regards, Dan

Thanks for the information.  Maybe I should just put it up in ebay.  I figure it'll go for $100-200.

FYI it is Vacheron & Constantin, and Eddy Constantine was an american-born comedian (29/10/1917 - 25/2/1993).wink
