I got this Chronograph with the wonderful black guilloche Dial some days ago, and I am really amazed how beautiful the dial turned out.  I cannot stop looking at the dial...  I also wrote a short story about the watch in my watchblog under www.watchesandart.blogspot.com  (garanteed virus free!!!)  or you can just use my main domain and click on the photo at www.watchesandart.com

Congrats on the really awesome watch. I am conteplating on getting a Overseas myself, the the white dial non chrono version tho. And i read somewhere that the Overseas dial isnt a "real" guiloche dial e.g. it isnt manualy crafted on the guiloche machine, but is a stamped pattern. Not that it matters much in the end, it looks really great anyways.

I heard the same thing that the dial is stamped, but don't know for sure, maybe someone here can shed some light on this?  The white dial is nice as well...
I hate to be the bearer of bad news...

...but:  a) zekio is correct, the Overseas dial is stamped, not  guilloched. b) during the VC factory tour I remember someone saying that the OS movement is the only movement that is not finished by VC itself but rather outsourced However, I don't really care, those 2 elements aren't stopping the OS Chrono being one of the top watches on my wish list. The watch looks amazing, and for this model I'm happy to have a lower price point associated with a) and b)  And so congrats on a great purchase, the watch looks fantastic with the black rubber strap!!! Thanks for sharing the pictures, I am green with envy!  Cheers,  Francois

@Veillotron Does b) apply to both the chronograph and regular version of the OS?

I confirm that the dial is stamped but movement is finished and assembled by VC
Whew!

Thanks for confirming that information, Alex. That was the first I had heard about the finishing of the movement by a third party, and I am glad to hear it is not true.  Best, respo
well then I think I'm going senile...

...I was sure someone of authority at La Manufacture told me that the OS movement was the only one not finished at La Manufacture... Thanks Alex for correcting me - I apologise for any heart attack I could have caused to OS owners... Cheers, Francois
Maybe he was referring to the 47212 EP, Francois.... ;-)

Heart attack! I'm having a heart attack!!
Seriously, Alex, is it possible to check?
09/09/2011 - 12:41
I'm going crazy over this - I'm sure someone said something about the OS movement when we did the tour of La Manufacture in 2010... Is it possible that it is the only movement to which VC does no adjustments to? Or is it possible that the finishing is outsourced?? Otherwise I'm gonna have to get my head checked outsurprise
check?

Don't you realize by now that concepts like double check, verify, make sure means nothing here.
Are you joking? Sorry dude but when a Lounger

Very Nice!
Of course it's no guillochage,
09/10/2011 - 12:52
but still a nice watch and fine pics! I personally prefer the steel brachelet. But taste is taste. I just hate wearing rubber, and snatch the few hairs from my wrist! Congrats and warmly welcome to the Lounge! Cheers Doc
